Blindconnect is a Nevada nonprofit that provides information, referral, and peer support to blind and visually impaired Nevadans. We are working to open the first blindness skills training center in Nevada.

The facility will be named Angela's House in honor of our friend and former board member Angela Hoffman. Angela's House staff will teach daily living skills, can travel, Braille, adaptive computer software, and self-advocacy techniques to encourage independence and self-confidence. The facility will be located in Las Vegas.

Donations are always welcome and are tax-deductible. Maybe your coworkers or team members or company could pledge monies to support the Angela's House project.

WHEN:

Sunday, October 18, 2009 Onsite registration (if space available) begins at 10:15 a.m. Poker Run begins at 11:00 am.

WHERE:

We'll begin at First Transit, 3214 Citizens Avenue in N. Las Vegas (off Simmons Street between Carey and Cheyenne)

ENTRY:

The three best poker hands overall will win cash prizes. Cash prizes for the three winners will be based on their entry fee and their place in the top three hands. Ties for best hands will be broken by a one card draw.

DETAILS:

We're encouraging vehicle teams of up to 4 members - have more fun; be sponsored and raise more money. Be sure to bring extra money for raffle tickets and special purchases.

Draw a Royal Flush and win $500.00 in addition to prize based on registration category.
