Set Your Sights on Independence

Blindconnect Then and Now

1998

Blindconnect 501(c)(3) nonprofit was established in 1998 to provide information, referrals, and peer support to adults dealing with severe vision loss.  Our original goal was to connect blind adults to other blind people, resources, and to their community-at-large.

2013

Recognizing the increasing need for focused blindness skills training in Nevada, Blindconnect began providing much-needed programs in 2013 geared toward self-confidence and independence.

2016

The program grew with our population, and we opened the Angela’s House Training Center in January of 2016 in partnership with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. Our unique training facility is centered on helping blind and low vision adults adjust to their vision loss, and gain or regain their independence. Our comprehensive program of life-skills instruction is provided by well-trained staff, many of whom have overcome personal visual challenges and now work as mentors..
