Angela’s House Is One-of-a-Kind

Angela's House

Angela’s House is our person-centered Blindness Skills Training Center. It is the only blindness skills training facility in Nevada, and the only nonprofit operation housed in a public transit facility in the United States.

Angela’s House is a 1,270 square foot apartment within the RTC’s 14,000 square foot Mobility Training Center.  We have a living room, dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a full bathroom, a technology lab, a braille/conference room, and a washer and dryer. Just out the door are sidewalks, crosswalks, stairs, ramps, and buses, which allow our Angela’s House guests to practice their travel skills and build confidence in a safe, indoor environment.

Angela’s House was carefully designed so participants could learn skills in a setting that easily translates to how they live in the community

You Are Not Alone

Those who are low vision or blind don’t have to face the challenges life has for them alone. Blindconnect offers a safe and supportive place where staff utilize proven methods of blindness training while following a professionally prepared curriculum.

The Heart of Angela’s House

Angela - Founder of Angela's House

Born blind in one eye, Angela began losing her usable vision in her remaining eye in the early 2000’s. She struggled with her blindness and was unable to find Las Vegas-based training opportunities to meet her needs. As a member of the Blindconnect Board of Directors, Angela helped look to the future and a blindness skills training center, which she never saw come to fruition.

Angela’s House is her legacy.
